The Peace SV Foundation is committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for children to whom we provide services. We take our responsibility for the welfare of children very seriously and aim to protect them from any form of abuse or exploitation.
Scope
This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, and individuals associated with our organization who work with, interact with, or have access to children during their engagement with the Foundation.

Best Interest of the Child: The welfare of the child is paramount, and their best interests must always be the primary consideration.
Zero Tolerance for Abuse: We have a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of child abuse and exploitation.
Equality and Respect: We treat all children with dignity and respect, regardless of their background, and we promote equality of opportunity.
Policy Commitments
Safe Recruitment: Implement rigorous screening processes for all staff and volunteers, including background checks.
Training and Awareness: Provide regular training on child protection responsibilities and best practices to all staff and volunteers.
Reporting and Responding to Abuse: Establish clear procedures for reporting and responding to allegations or suspicions of abuse, including informing relevant authorities.
Code of Conduct: Develop and enforce a code of conduct for all staff and volunteers that defines acceptable and unacceptable behavior towards children.
Creating Safe Environments: Ensure that all activities and environments are safe for children, with appropriate supervision and safety measures in place.
Involving Children and Families: Engage with children and their families in our work, ensuring that their views are heard and respected.
Confidentiality and Data Protection: Safeguard children's personal data and ensure confidentiality, sharing information only when necessary for the protection of the child.
Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and update our child protection policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Management: Ensure that child protection is a priority at all levels of the organization.
Staff and Volunteers: Understand and comply with the child protection policy and procedures.
Designated Child Protection Officer: A specific individual is responsible for overseeing the implementation of child protection policies and responding to issues.
Reporting Procedures
Any concerns or allegations of child abuse must be reported immediately to the Designated Child Protection Officer.
The officer will take appropriate steps to ensure the safety of the child and may involve external authorities.
Review and Monitoring
This policy will be reviewed annually and amended as necessary to ensure it remains effective and relevant.
